Standard license plates, transfer to another vehicle

When you are issued new plates, we make sure that the new number is linked to your vehicle in the state motor vehicle database and that you are issued a new registration sticker to match the new plate number. This is the only way law enforcement will know that the car belongs to you.

Add “Your local county tax assessor-collector's office will assist with the transfer and issue you a new registration sticker for your vehicle.”; Reiterate that that there is a $0.50 fee for transfers
