Welcome to First Vote!, a collaboration of the Travis County voter registration and election divisions and the Austin-area League of Women Voters.
First Vote! Program
The First Vote! program is available free of charge to high schools across the county and organizations with 20 or more 17- to 18-year old students.
The First Vote! team teaches junior and senior high school students about the importance of voter registration and voting and empowers them with knowledge on how to seek out non-partisan information on candidates and issues. Team members also register eligible students to vote.
To hold the attention of teens, the program moves fast, taking up only 30 minutes from start to finish. However, First Vote! team members are available to stay after the formal presentation to answer questions and register students to vote.
Mock Presidential Election for Your School
Oct. 4, 2016 is the presidential election at schools across Travis County. The First Vote! team can help your elementary, middle or high school host the mock presidential election. Election results will be released to the media, letting county residents know who students believe should be the next President of the United States. You must have your school signed up for the Mock Presidential Election by Sept. 27, 2016.

YouthCam - Student PSA Contest
The First Vote! team is actively promoting the Travis County student public service announcement contest. High School students can enter 60-, 30- and 15-second video commercials on voter registration and voting to compete for cash and prizes. Several local businesses are partnering with the Travis County Tax Office and Travis County Clerk Office to provide prizes, expertise and contest promotion.
