Travis County Tax Office

September 9, 2025

The Travis County Tax Office announced today that hundreds of property owners whose primary residence were damaged in the July 2025 storms and floods may now qualify to pay their 2025 property taxes in four equal installments without penalties or interest. This relief applies to residence homesteads and certain personal property located in a disaster declared area that have sustained damage because of the disaster, as prescribed by Section 31.032 of the Texas Property Tax Code.

“This installment option provides important financial flexibility for homeowners who were impacted by the devastating July storms and floods,” said Celia Israel, Travis County Tax Assessor-Collector. “We are committed to supporting our community through the recovery process and sharing information about this option can be critical to a family’s bottom line.”

To participate in the installment plan, property owners must enroll and submit 25% of the 2025 property taxes by January 31, 2026. Eligible property owners will receive notification of this payment option with their tax bills in early December and will then be able to enroll online or by mail.
