Travis County Tax Office

September 16, 2024

Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2024, marks National Voter Registration Day, and the Travis County Tax Office is mobilizing its Volunteer Deputy Registrars (VDRs) to help residents register to vote and update their address ahead of the Nov. 5, 2024, General Election.

With the voter registration deadline fast approaching on Oct. 7, Travis County residents who haven’t registered are encouraged to do so.

“We want every eligible Travis County resident to be vote ready for the upcoming election,” said Bruce Elfant, Travis County Tax Assessor-Collector and Voter Registrar. “National Voter Registration Day is a great opportunity for people to prepare in advance.”

This year, the Travis County Tax Office is partnering with Austin Community College District (ACC), Wheatsville Food Co-op, and the Paramount Theatre to offer voter registration events throughout the community.

“New residents move to our county daily, and others are turning 18, becoming U.S. citizens, or regaining their right to vote. We’re making it easy for everyone to register, whether they do it in person or by mail.”
