The deadline to register to vote for the Nov. 7 election is Tuesday, Oct. 10.
“This date is important because voters who submit registration applications after Oct. 10 will not be eligible to vote in this election,” said Travis County Tax Assessor-Collector and Voter Registrar Bruce Elfant. “The best way to ensure your application is on time is to hand-cancel it at the post office or drop it off at the tax office.”
In Texas, voter registration requires a paper application to register for the first time.
Registered voters can update their registration online if they moved within Texas by visiting Texas.gov.
Citizens can register to vote by:
- Mailing a voter registration application with a postmark no later than Oct. 10, 2023.
- Visiting any of the six Travis County Tax Office locations.
- Filling out the voter registration application at TravisCountyTax.org/voters or VoteTexas.gov, printing it out and dropping it off at any Travis County Tax Office.
