The Travis County Tax Office will close its drive-thru lanes at 5 p.m., Friday, April 10, at our main office and the Pflugerville and McKinney Falls branch tax offices.

Tax office services continue to be available online, www.TravisCountyTax.org and through the mail.

“We are closing the drive-thru lanes to protect our customers and employees,” said Bruce Elfant, Travis County’s tax assessor-collector. “When we closed our lobbies we allowed our three drive-thru locations to remain open, but now with the shelter in place orders and the rise in cases and deaths, I must do what is best for everyone.”

Here are the services available online and through the mail:

  • Pay your property taxes online
  • Renew your vehicle registration online at www.Texas.gov
  • Apply to renew disabled parking license plates or placards for permanent or temporary disabilities by mail, P.O. Box 149326, Austin, TX 78717-9326
  • Apply for a title by mail, P.O. Box 149326, Austin, TX 78717-9326

Gov. Greg Abbott has issued a waiver from the registration renewal requirement as well as other extensions on motor vehicle services as part of his state of disaster emergency orders. For more information, go to www.TxDMV.gov/COVID-19.
