Celia Israel will be sworn in as Travis County Tax Assessor-Collector on Friday, January 3rd. Celia Israel was elected in November 2024 for the four-year term and will be the 22nd Tax Assessor-Collector in Travis County.
The Travis County Tax Assessor-Collector annually collects $5.8 billion in local property taxes for 153 local government entities and $1.6 million in court fees on behalf of the County Courts, District Courts and Justices of the Peace. The office registers and titles almost 1 million vehicles, registers over 850,000 voters, and supports elections for 201 local government entities. The Tax Office operates six locations in Travis County.

The ceremony will be held from 11:00 - 11:30 AM, followed by a reception in the 12th floor atrium until 12:30 PM. Doors open at 10:30 AM. The ceremony will be broadcast on TCTV (https://www.traviscountytx.gov/tctv). Joe Morin will serve as MC, Pastor Laurent Grosvenor will share a blessing, and Blanca Nereida Valencia will sing the National Anthem. Celia Israel will share remarks after she takes the oath of office, which will be administered by Judge Bianca Garcia
